Imagination Station

Description

At Imagination Station, creativity meets independence. This group helps children develop executive functioning and fine motor skills through colourful, hands-on activities in a relaxed, summer-inspired environment.

Children explore arts, crafts, and simple science projects, guided by the “Get Ready, Do, Done” framework. As they plan, complete, and reflect on their creations, they build confidence in their ability to take initiative and finish tasks on their own.

With each activity, learners gain awareness of group dynamics, practising how to observe their peers, follow group routines, and participate meaningfully with less adult direction.

This is for..

Imagination Station is ideal for children who are ready to build on their executive functioning skills and develop independence in a supportive setting. This group is especially beneficial for children who:

  • Need support completing tasks independently

  • Benefit from visual planning and peer modelling

  • Struggle with focus or fine motor coordination

  • Thrive in structured but fun settings

3       Routines

The theme of Independence will be woven throughout each session, strengthening the skills children already possess while gently introducing new challenges in a fun and supportive way. Each session will include the following:

  • Demonstration Circle: Each project is introduced and broken into steps.

  • Arts & Crafts: Children independently follow through with their own summer-themed creations.

  • Science Experiments: Learners practise planning and reflecting while exploring new ideas.

Imagination Station is a bright space where creativity and independence flourish hand in hand.
