Overview

Create Land is BACK! Create Land is a hands-on camp where children engage in building projects and simple science experiments while learning how to plan, follow steps, and complete a task from beginning to end.

While these activities may look like “just crafts or experiments,” they are intentionally designed to support executive functioning and social inferencing skills—key areas where many children need support.

Throughout the week, children will participate in activities such as:

Step-by-step building projects

• Simple science experiments

• Multi-step hands-on tasks that lead to a final product

• Group-based collaborative creations

These activities are designed to help children:

• Learn how to observe and follow demonstrated steps

• Practice planning and sequencing (what comes first, next, and last)

• Improve independence in completing tasks

• Develop flexibility when things do not go exactly as expected

• Build confidence through completing a full project

How the Program Is Run

This camp is led by our Behaviour Consultants (BCs) or Junior Behaviour Consultants (JBCs), with additional support from our Behaviour Interventionists (BIs). We understand that every child is different. Children are not expected to be at the same level to participate. Even though we are working on the same project, working with the individualized level of prompts is important for your child’s development!

On the first day, children will take part in both group and individual activities so we can gently understand their current skills in a natural way. Starting from Day 2, activities will be adjusted to match each child’s level, and this will continue throughout the week so that every child is both supported and appropriately challenged.

Daily Routine

Each day follows a consistent and predictable structure to help children feel comfortable and ready to learn:

Who Is This Program a Good Fit For?

This program is a good fit for children who:

• Are between 5.5–8 years old

• Can participate in a small group setting with the general support

• Can communicate their basic needs (verbally or using other communication methods)

• Can follow simple group instructions with guidance

Additional Support if Needed

Some children may be required to have 1:1 support (additional cost) if they:

• Strongly resist adult support during group participation

• Tend to run or leave the area (elopement)

• Show behaviours that are unsafe to themselves or others (This is for the safety matter for everyone. We appreciate your understanding in advance.)

If you are unsure, we are happy to discuss this with you before registration.

🙏 Our group rate is set to remain affordable while maintaining a low staff-to-student ratio (maximum 1:3). Therefore, we appreciate everyone’s understanding to apply the late pick-up policy of $4 per 5 minutes after 1pm.

🙏 If your child is outside of this age range but you are interested in enrolling him/her, please inquire to our team before registration.

*Only groups with a minimum of 4 learners will be confirmed.
