Imagination Station
1 Description
Imagination Station is our creative, hands-on group for children approximately 5 years and older, designed to integrate art, science, social communication, and executive functioning — all with a playful, summer-inspired twist.
Rather than simply completing tasks, we focus on sparking curiosity and motivation: encouraging children to explore, plan, collaborate, and follow through in a relaxed, engaging environment.
Children will:
-
recognize what motivates them to begin a project or step into a peer interaction
(“I want to try”, “What happens if I do this next?”) -
practise planning, sequencing, and sustaining effort through creative tasks
— shifting from “I’m done” to “Let me try one more step” -
build peer connection and communication skills by choosing to ask for help, invite ideas, or reflect on their process
— “I joined because…” “I tried again because…” -
celebrate effort, curiosity, and the joy of creating — not just the finished product 🌈
Routines
Each session follows a predictable yet flexible structure to support engagement, connection, and independence:

keep going even when it’s tricky
-
-
Done & Peer-Share Phase
Children share their creations in a low-pressure, supportive setting

2 Q&A
Q: My child is good with crafts or science, but often gets stuck mid-way. Will this group help?
A: Yes — this group is ideal for children who can start tasks but need support with planning and follow-through. We focus on motivation and process:
“What keeps me going?” “What can I try next?”
Q: My child tends to work alone and doesn’t ask for help.
A: We gently build in opportunities for peer interaction and support help-seeking, encouraging phrases like:
“Can I borrow this?” “Can you help me?”
Q: My child is shy about sharing their work.
A: That’s completely okay. Sharing is low-pressure and supported. We celebrate effort and curiosity (“I tried this”), not perfection.
