Arpita is a passionate Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting clients across the lifespan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in Pediatrics. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals of all ages and a wide range of medical conditions in diverse settings including hospitals, schools, clinics, nursing homes, and community-based environments.
She currently works at Peach Arch Hospital Long-Term Care and also provides home-based Occupational Therapy services for pediatric clients. Arpita’s therapeutic approach is relationship-based and child-centred, focusing on helping children learn, grow, and develop skills through meaningful play-based interventions.
Arpita has extensive experience working with infants and children recovering from injuries, as well as those facing developmental, sensory, behavioral, and functional challenges. She is dedicated to maximizing each child’s participation and independence in self-care, school readiness and productivity, play, and community engagement.
She is highly skilled in delivering goal-directed therapy, consultation, caregiver education, and collaborative support to families and community providers. Her strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills enable her to build trusting therapeutic relationships and provide compassionate, individualized care tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Known for her enthusiasm, patience, creativity, and empathy, Arpita works effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. She is deeply committed to making a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children and their families. Families can rely on her to provide thoughtful, attentive, and safe care while fostering each child’s confidence, development, and quality of life.
Outside of her professional work, Arpita enjoys maintaining her fitness through yoga and exercise. She is also a nature enthusiast who loves gardening and taking long walks outdoors.
