Seminat Oredegbe is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. She has 8 years of clinical experience providing speech and language services for children and families. Seminat supports toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children with a variety of communication needs, including early language development, speech sound difficulties, phonological awareness, social communication, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication, including AAC systems such as TouchChat.

Seminat’s journey in the field of speech-language pathology comes from her passion for helping children find meaningful ways to communicate and connect with the people around them. She believes that every child has unique strengths, needs, and learning styles, and she values taking the time to understand each child as an individual. Her professional background and clinical experience have allowed her to support children with diverse communication profiles while working closely with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals.

Her strengths come from her warm, family-centred approach and her ability to create therapy goals that are practical, meaningful, and individualized. Seminat believes that communication grows best when everyone involved in the child’s life works together as a team. She enjoys collaborating with parents, Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, Behaviour Consultants, Occupational Therapists, teachers, and other professionals to support each child’s progress across home, school, and community settings.

 

Her approach is to embed individualized speech and language goals into play, daily routines, structured activities, and natural interactions. She strives to make therapy engaging, supportive, and enjoyable while respecting each child’s personality, preferences, and needs. Whether sessions involve play-based therapy, parent coaching, AAC support, speech sound practice, or language-based activities, Seminat’s goal is to help children build confidence and develop communication skills that are meaningful in their everyday lives.
